Headcanons
Mar. 10th, 2024 09:49 pm A list of various headcanons I have for April. Some being from canon that were also expanded upon.
Sports- April is very active. It shows in her usual activities and day to day with the boys. It's been shown that she plays basketball, while being rather good at it (Having to be a part of a team with Leo and the other turtles to win against a mystic demon basketball team). Since she had no trouble in shooting a 3-pointer from half court.
With her preferred weapon of choice with a baseball bat, April definitely has more than proper accuracy when striking in battle. So, it's more than safe to assume she's experienced in playing baseball.
Ninjutsu- Though a brawler, she has refined her skills and gotten more polished training from Splinter to better in defending herself, as well as being on the offense that's not just including swinging hard and bashing baddies. The Hamato clan is known for their speed, thus she is able to keep up a lot better in battle with the boys. Some other skills from Karai, even as she passed on, rubbed off on her as well. Including ninpo powers.
Sign Language- Only so often she gets to use this with another. She started learning around the age of 9 while also using it to communicate with a close friend.
Insecurities- Even if it doesn't look like it for all the no shit taking attitude and confidence she shows, April gets pretty down on herself. Especially in her failures to where she doesn't believe she can go anything right. Things never going her way in the least or a string of bad luck to where she thinks she's cursed (Example of this is when she mentions how her birthday's are always a disaster and doesn't think they should be celebrated).
Much as she gets along with the turtles and is pretty friendly when approached, she is a bit of a outcast at school. Not really having any friends, since she refers to anyone she knows from school as a acquaintances. Not surprising to her if people viewed her as a little weird when getting into strange situations, plus she use to be bullied quite often years ago, so she just keeps to herself for the most part.
