[To anyone else this idea would be a bad one, but this is Donatello. No idea is a bad one if he came up with it himself, that and dammit. It took a lot for him to get what he needed for it, so of course he is going to see it through. That is to say, he got a disguise brooch and he was going to use it to prove his point.

Of course getting the situation right is the harder part, so it's during a break in between classes that he plans to strike. As a half-japanese teenager will approach April during one of said breaks, looking a little lost as he comes up to her.]

Ah, hello. Could you help me out?

[He's also trying to disguise his voice, but like he's any good at that.]

Ugh, I shouldn't have skipped out on the coffee this morning. Feels like the day is draggin' with no caffeine.
[5 hour energy maybe, but the aftertaste? Just ew. She was glancing through her phone scrolling through to see if she had any recent text messages before her head perked up. Oh, was he talking to her? Usually people aren't approaching her for usually anything. Least anyone at this school, but hey! That means first impressions to not possibly come off as weird to a new kid!

Who's voice sounds oddly pretty familiar? But she's never seen him around before and she knows that lost look. Thus, she'll be putting on her best smile despite caffeine defiency.]

[Excellent, step one is off to a good start! As Donnie is going to do his best to get this right, considering he never went to any of the practises with his brothers for the whole "act like humans" ideas.]

I'm looking to attend school here, and I got lost looking around so I thought maybe I should ask for some help?

[In his obtuse way he's asking if April will show him around.]

[Maybe if he did he'd be less awkward. Then again teenagers were awkward anyway, so maybe the authenticness was working for him.]

It's kinda big, right? Use to get lost when I first came here. What made you want to attend here?

Haa, wait I didn't even ask your name. Oh, or maybe I should tell you mind first.
[She laughed. Ah, don't be so bad with first impressions April. That's why people think you're WEIRD. A hand jutted out in an offering to shake hands.]

I'm April. What's your name? And if you want I can show you around for a bit so you can get more familiar.

[He answers the first question posed to him, and then name. Oh god name. He can't use Othello, April knows about that one and... He kind of didn't think up one beforehand so he looks around for inspiration, and finds none so! Winging it!]

Lee... Leeland. Yeah, Leeland, but everyone just calls me Lee? And that would be great.

[A bit awkward? But she'll just put her hand back in her pocket casually with little offense. Though she listened to him.]

I've got some time, so just follow me. You can tell me about yourself and where you're from.
[To which she'll urge him to walk with her while she shows him around. Yeah, she likes getting to know new people and where they're from for sure.]

[Augh no, he just noticed her hand as she's putting it away. Stupid stupid Donnie, hopefully she'll just take it as him being too nervous to be polite.]

[He laughs a bit nervously, bringing a hand up to run through his hair before he falls into step to follow her.]

There's not much to tell, I'm not from the city so it's a big deal to be going to a school here...

[Really she just assumed he wasn't much of a 'touchy' individual, which is fine with simple greetings. She knows others like that. Well, she knows of one person like that really. So, it's even less bothersome.]

Oooh? Where you from then? I've lived her all my life. Your family always been in New York or maybe you're out of state? What was the last school you were at?
[QUESTIONS. She sure did ask a bunch of them when she's excited.]

Oh no, not out of state. I'm from around... Buffalo. My high school wasn't that interesting, just you know. Normal.

Pretty quiet, huh? I feel ya. Though it always feels like a lot happens here.

[This city be cursed in some manner she swears, but hey least things aren't boring for the most part. While they're walking she'll be pointing out various spots and sections of the school to where certain classes are in different wings to where you can find the offices as well.]

Surprised you didn't ask a staff member or schedule a tour of the school.

[Doing his best to be clueless about the clusterfuck that is New York City. And as she's pointing out spots and sections he nods and goes "Oh interesting" when she mentions anything important.]

Oh well, this was the only day I could come by and I couldn't get one scheduled. And you know how teachers are...

More or less, so hope you don't get too spooked being here with any weirdness, BUT always plenty of things to be doing.

Ha, yeah they're pretty elusive if your schedule doesn't match up with yours.
[She hummed. April was pretty enthused with giving a tour. Truly only something a nerd could be excited for given places like pointing out the library and chem labs.]

[He can't help, he makes himself chuckle like a normal person at her saying how teachers are elusive and he shows great enthusiasm at the chem lab and library being pointed out.]

[Sure being split was, a thing. The manticore half of Donnie had been sticking around the dojo, but he knew that things had to change.

So he was going to get April's help to get his turtle half to come home, so he goes to the room that has been claimed by her and knocks on the door.]

[Definitely weird, funky stuff happening, yet she can't say it's really so off putting considering how things use to be back at home.

She was currently flipping through a comic book before her head perked up at the knock to her door.]

Come on in!
[She's going to sit herself up straight from the bed to look over at the door.]

Sure, what's up?

[The manticore part of Donnie is opening the door and letting himself in, his tail twitching in anticipation.]

I... Need your help with my other half. Which means going to his lab.

[He sounds a little nervous about this, considering how Donnie kicked him out of the lab at the start of all this.]

Ah, yeah I can help with that. Since he still hasn't popped up here at all still.

[Whether it's by choice or still figuring out whatever at the moment. Either way him being away in some lab for however long isn't good. Usually why she was all over his butt half the time at home. Thus she'll be slipping her shoes on as she hops up.]

You'll have to show me where it is, but I'll go. Get this feeling arguing with yourself never goes too well..

[He'll offer her his hand once she's got herself ready, so he can lead her to the stairs to the rooftop instead of leading her down through the dojo itself.]

[She finds it pretty nifty to be flying. So, there's not really any fear of doing so thankfully. Just a little different, right? Still it doesn't make her any less excited to do so. Prepared for walking, but this is better.]

Sure it is! Use to do it all the time with Dee back home.
[Use to it and enjoys it given her excitement though it's just different being less techy.]

[Yeah it'll be a lot less smooth in comparison to his jetpack back home, anyway! To the roof and once they're there, and not too close to the apartment built up there for Bucky and Sherlock, he'll just pick her up princess style without warning.]

[And he's heading to the edge of the roof and promptly jumping off and flapping his wings and getting them off to where they need to go.]

[Not likely for an adrenaline junkie like herself, but she'll mention it if the case. To be expected with it being pretty different, especially being carried like this. Leaning into his chest as she watched in awe at their surroundings.

Oh, it was a pretty nice height in being able to see everything. A soft hum of awe as she squirmed briefly in his arms in excitement.]

[He'd rather be safe than sorry, as the flight is a lot choppier to what she is probably used to. Also when she squirms in his hold? He holds onto her tighter, not wanting to drop her.

Anyway, the flight isn't that long as he'll land them at the 38-8. Near the pizza place that's next to the apartments, to be exact. He'll put her down and he'll hold her hand once she's steadied on her feet to lead her into the apartments.]

[Good thing the lab is on the first floor, so they don't have to go too far.]

[Back on her feet she'd look around for a bit as he'd guide her. Why was his lab rather far from the Dojo anyway? That and him not being around did signal some signs things were probably not that great. Since she usually tended to get some vague answers other than from Dee's other side.]

Ah...didn't think he'd be so far from us.
[Could have maybe message dhim but what are the chances of him panicking about that, so popcorn call it is.]

It's free, that's the only reason why we have the lab here.
[The manticore answers her unspoken question that was implied in what she said, as he makes his way to the apartment door that leads to Donnie's lab.

He would knock, but he doesn't. Instead turning the knob and oh, it's not locked which gets a smile out of him, because that means that Donnie is inside. Which once the door is opened it looks kind of similar to his lab back home, although very low-tech considering how Ryslig is, and empty.]

... Ah, he's probably sleeping.
[The manticore will walk inside and make his way deeper into the labpartment, going to the bathroom. Since there isn't any furniture in the lab that isn't useful for lab work, the only place the turtle half of him can be is... Yep, that's Donnie in his turtle-y glory sleeping in the bathtub.]

[There was a soft hum made as she looked around. It did remind her of his lab a bit back home, but definitely less electronic driven for certain. Guess Donnie is coping one way or another.

Even though he answered her unasked question about the lab she’s still wonders why he’s not just back at the Dojo. Going into the bathroom she’s confused.]

[She gave a breathy laugh seeing it now. Yeah, guess that checks out for being a turtle and all.]
